22 Tips for Writing Good Blog Content

Creating Compelling Content

Writing Compelling Content When You’re Stuck In A Rut

Sometimes as a writer you just get stuck. You’ve created great content before but you’ve found yourself in a rut that you can’t seem to get out of. How do professional writers get themselves out of these ruts? They have a whole book of tricks up their sleeves to help them get out their rut.

One of the tricks that can be useful is to try and get your creative juices following by inspiring yourself by looking at other writer’s content (not copying) but reading through it. Maybe an idea will hit and you will be back on the tracks writing like you’ve never written before.

Or maybe you can get a group of your friends or fellow writers together and all of you start brainstorming on whatever topic it is that you need a kick in the butt to get jumpstarted on. More often than not someone else will think of something simple that didn’t happen to cross your mind, but it’s not because you are any less smart than they are it’s just that everyone thinks a little bit differently.

Ask your readers/audience for some feedback. They might have some insight on the topic that will help get you going in the right direction. Or if all else fails, you can have a guest writer on your blog or page. Have them help add some stuff to your content and have space filled up effortlessly.

Another road that you could down involves creating content that isn’t original, like a review of something. You could review a company, a product, or even another website and you can either do a negative type of review including things such as why you don’t like them or their product, what they are doing wrong, and what your readers could learn. You can also of course do a positive review that asks and answers the opposite questions.

You could look over some of your older posts as well that maybe can give you some inspiration. Another important thing is to show your readers that you are human, which means share your failures as well as your successes. But at the same time when you do share your successes you do not want to brag too much and come off as a jerk.

Something that can help jumpstart your mind is meshing your blog title with a popular subject that users would want to read or are intrigued by. Like movie titles, TV series, comic book heroes, etc. etc. And last but not least you need to find your muse when trying to come up with something while stuck in a rut. Get out of the house and maybe go to a movie or just go on a walk. Try a new eatery and maybe you could even decide to write a review about that place!

These are just some of the many ways that you can try and get your wheels turning again. And don’t put too much pressure on yourself , this can be a bigger block than trying to find something to write about. So just have fun with it and see where it takes you!
